Job summary
The DevOps Engineer designs, builds, and operates SaaS services and Kubernetes clusters, developing tailored platform features while meeting strict data protection and quality requirements. The role automates build, test, and deployment workflows; implements monitoring and logging; integrates authentication services; supports testing and production operations; and advises product owners and software engineering teams. The technology environment includes GitLab, Kubernetes, Ansible, Terraform, Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch, and Keycloak.

Qualifications
- Degree in computer science or a related field, or completed vocational training in IT, with relevant practical experience
- Understanding of DevOps principles and interest in applying them
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and deploying large software applications is an advantage
- Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes; initial experience with Red Hat OpenShift is preferred
- Basic knowledge of Java, microservice architectures, and API design, including REST and messaging
- Experience with logging tools such as Elasticsearch, Kibana, or Splunk and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Alertmanager
- Analytical and service-oriented working style
- Fluent German, at least C1 level
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate SaaS services
- Implement and maintain Kubernetes clusters
- Develop platform features and tailored solutions for project requirements
- Build monitoring and logging solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, or Elasticsearch
- Automate deployments with Ansible, Terraform, Helm, Kustomize, Argo CD, or GitLab CI/CD
- Contribute to test automation and platform quality assurance
- Integrate authentication services using LDAP, SAML 2.0, OIDC, and Keycloak
- Standardize and automate build, test, and deployment processes while meeting data protection requirements
- Advise product owners and software engineering teams on product and project requirements
- Evaluate new technologies
- Handle bug fixes, bug tracking, and second- and third-level support
- Prepare technical documentation
