DevOps Engineer

Job summary

The DevOps Engineer designs and maintains AWS container infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code tooling for EV charging systems. The role improves deployment speed and reliability through ECS, GitHub Actions, OpenTofu, and automated release strategies, while supporting highly available services, a MySQL-to-Postgres migration, SOC 2-aligned practices, and monitoring with Grafana, VictoriaMetrics, and OpenTelemetry.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in DevOps, release engineering, or build automation.
• At least 3 years of experience with large-scale distributed infrastructure and client-server architecture.
• Hands-on experience with AWS ECS, Fargate or EC2, Docker, and containers in a microservices environment.
• Experience deploying and managing infrastructure as code with OpenTofu or Terraform.
• Strong experience with AWS and cloud infrastructure automation.
• Experience with CI/CD, continuous testing, and monitoring and alerting tools such as Grafana and Prometheus-compatible metrics.
• Experience with Kafka-compatible streaming systems such as Redpanda or Kafka is an asset.
• AWS certification is an asset.
• Experience in a SOC 2 environment is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain AWS ECS, Fargate, EC2, and Docker Compose infrastructure.
• Improve GitHub Actions pipelines, build speeds, and reliability; advance push-to-deploy with feature flags, canary or blue-green deployments, and automated rollback.
• Build highly available cloud environments, including a Traefik-based OCPP edge and self-hosted Redpanda streaming platform.
• Extend AWS and OpenTofu tooling with shell scripts, Checkov, tflint, and pull request plan checks.
• Maintain automation and deployment infrastructure in line with SOC 2 best practices.
• Improve architectural redundancy and reliability, including support for a MySQL-to-Postgres migration.
• Build monitoring and alerting with Vector, Grafana, VictoriaMetrics, and OpenTelemetry, including service-level objectives and burn-rate alerts.
• Document infrastructure and processes.
