DevOps Engineer

Job summary

The DevOps Engineer develops and maintains systems and automation that support software development, deployment, and application performance, helping improve reliability and delivery efficiency. The role builds CI/CD pipelines, automates deployment and rollback processes, administers Octopus Deploy, and supports Git workflows, Docker, Kubernetes, and modern .NET applications. It also maintains monitoring, logging, alerting, and production troubleshooting practices.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of relevant experience preferred.
• Production CI/CD pipeline implementation and deployment automation experience required.
• Hands-on experience with Octopus Deploy, Bitbucket, GitHub, Docker, Kubernetes, and modern .NET applications strongly preferred.
• Experience with application performance monitoring, centralized logging, and observability platforms preferred.
• Experience with PowerShell, Python, Bash, and REST APIs preferred.
• Familiarity with GitHub Actions, Bitbucket Pipelines, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or similar CI/CD platforms preferred.
• Familiarity with Helm, Terraform, Ansible, Infrastructure as Code, SQL Server, IIS, or Linux preferred.
• Experience with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Dynatrace, Splunk, SonarQube, or similar tools preferred.
• Experience supporting enterprise .NET applications, microservices, and production Kubernetes environments preferred.
• Experience in financial services, lending, or another regulated industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for reliable software delivery.
• Automate application builds, testing, packaging, deployment, validation, and rollback.
• Develop standardized deployment processes and reusable automation across teams and applications.
• Administer Octopus Deploy projects, environments, workflows, approvals, and templates.
• Integrate Octopus Deploy with source control, build systems, artifact repositories, container registries, and Kubernetes.
• Manage Bitbucket and GitHub workflows, branching strategies, repository permissions, and code reviews.
• Support the build, deployment, and operation of .NET applications, APIs, services, and background processes.
• Maintain Docker containers, registries, image versioning, and security standards.
• Deploy and support Kubernetes applications, configurations, resources, networking, and health monitoring.
• Maintain application monitoring, centralized logging, performance tracking, and alerting.
• Monitor availability, response times, error rates, and system performance; investigate potential issues.
• Create deployment validation, health checks, and rollback procedures.
• Automate infrastructure, deployment, and monitoring tasks using scripting tools and APIs.
• Collaborate with development teams to improve deployment reliability, application performance, and consistency.
• Secure credentials, system access, certificates, and deployment permissions.
• Troubleshoot deployment failures, performance issues, and infrastructure problems.
• Evaluate DevOps tools and processes and recommend improvements.
