Job summary
The DevOps Engineer develops and operates IT solutions for process automation and data analysis, supporting projects from requirements through delivery. The role uses PHP 8, Symfony, and the LAMP stack to build backend services and APIs, integrate systems such as SAP and Microsoft Graph, and maintain platform operations, container-based CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and observability.

Qualifications
- Several years of practical web development experience, especially with object-oriented PHP; Symfony experience preferred
- In-depth knowledge of PHP and Symfony, including Symfony components, version control, and collaboration tools
- Experience developing service-oriented backend logic and complex APIs
- Confident use of databases and common web server technologies
- Experience applying SOLID principles, test-driven development, and domain-driven design
- Knowledge of UI development, state management, and component-based design
- Interest in software architecture; experience making architecture decisions is an advantage
- Experience with event-driven architecture, including modeling, producing, and consuming domain events
- Expertise in CI/CD and container-based pipelines
- Knowledge of security by design, especially OpenID Connect and OAuth 2.0
- Experience with site reliability engineering and observability
- Fluent spoken and written German
- Independent, responsible, adaptable, resilient, curious, and collaborative
Responsibilities
- Develop IT solutions for process automation and data analysis using PHP, HTML5, and the LAMP stack
- Build object-oriented applications with PHP 8 and Symfony
- Integrate external web APIs, including SAP and Microsoft Graph, and provide APIs for internal applications
- Guide projects from initial ideas and requirements through implementation
- Operate the platform, monitor applications, and diagnose and resolve issues
- Develop approaches to automate and analyze data and processes
- Build and maintain container-based automated build, test, and deployment pipelines
- Maintain code quality through best practices, code reviews, and automated testing
