Job summary

Siemens Mobility is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join their Ecosystem-Enabler Team, focusing on platform infrastructure, automation, and enabling development teams. The role involves designing, implementing, and operating a Kubernetes-based platform infrastructure for stateless and stateful workloads, and supporting product teams in adopting platform standards and deployment best practices. The ideal candidate will contribute to the continuous development of the platform ecosystem and AIOps initiatives.

• Completed Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a comparable qualification
• Several years of professional experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or Cloud Engineering with a strong focus on data-intensive systems
• Profound practical experience with Kubernetes, especially in operating stateful workloads such as databases and message brokers in production environments
• Familiarity with multi-cluster Kubernetes environment management and experience with tools like vCluster, Rancher, and delivery frameworks like KRO or KubeVela
• Practical experience with GitOps approaches and deployment tools, especially ArgoCD, Helm, and modern Cloud-Native deployment procedures
• Experience with Apache Kafka, streaming applications, and data pipeline operations
• Operated and further developed productive Kafka clusters on Kubernetes
• Experience with cloud platforms, especially AWS, and with Python for automation and platform tool development
• Knowledge of FastAPI is an advantage
• Operated PostgreSQL, Dragonfly, or Redis in productive environments and possess knowledge of operations, performance tuning, and high availability concepts
• Knowledge or strong interest in AI/ML Ops
• Familiarity with observability and monitoring solutions such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Dynatrace
• Proficient in English communication
• German language skills are an advantage

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and operate a Kubernetes-based platform infrastructure for stateless and stateful workloads, including databases and streaming systems
• Implement and operate GitOps workflows with ArgoCD and Kargo for platform and application deployments in multi-cluster environments based on EKS, Rancher, and vCluster
• Support product teams in adopting platform standards and deployment best practices, and develop self-service functions for efficient platform use
• Participate in AIOps initiatives and utilize AI-supported approaches for platform operations, automated troubleshooting, and remediation
• Collaborate closely with DevOps Engineers and development teams to continuously evolve the platform ecosystem
• Contribute to the further development of observability, monitoring, and operational automation
