Job summary

Sprengnetter, part of the Scout24 Group, is seeking a DevOps Engineering Manager to lead, develop, and coach their DevOps team. The role involves end-to-end responsibility for the reliability, availability, scalability, security, and operational excellence of platforms and production systems. The manager will also drive the continuous development of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and operational tool landscapes.

Qualifications

  • Several years of professional experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, infrastructure operations, or similar fields.
  • Proven experience in technical and disciplinary leadership of teams.
  • Profound experience in operating, scaling, and optimizing business-critical production environments, ideally in regulated industries.
  • In-depth knowledge of Linux system administration and operating highly available and secure production systems.
  • Strong understanding of modern, scalable system architectures.
  • Experience with database technologies such as PostgreSQL and MariaDB.
  • Practical experience with Git, CI/CD platforms (e.g., Jenkins), infrastructure automation (e.g., Ansible), container technologies (e.g., Docker), application platforms (e.g., Tomcat), and cloud/hybrid infrastructures.
  • Good knowledge of automation and scripting with Python, Bash, or similar technologies.
  • Experience with information security and compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR, Internal Control Systems).
  • Analytical thinking, structured and solution-oriented work approach.
  • Experience in effectively using AI tools to increase productivity and problem-solving.
  • Very good written and spoken German and English language skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and coach the DevOps team, fostering an environment for growth and responsibility.
  • Assume end-to-end responsibility for reliability, availability, scalability, security, and operational excellence of platforms and production systems.
  • Ensure stable, secure, and efficient operation of cloud, hybrid, and on-premises infrastructures.
  • Drive continuous development of CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, infrastructure automation, and operational tool landscape.
  • Manage monitoring, alerting, observability, incident response, and problem management, establishing best practices for platform operations.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, security, and compliance teams to improve software delivery speed, system stability, and service quality.
  • Define and establish operational standards, processes, documentation, and governance structures, ensuring auditable and transparent systems.
  • Manage compliance requirements (ISO standards, GDPR, ICS), support audits and risk analyses, and act as a central contact for stakeholders.
