Job summary

The Cloud DevOps Engineer role involves deploying and managing secure, resilient, and highly available distributed cloud architectures. Key responsibilities include automating deployment processes with Ansible and Python, maintaining CI/CD pipelines, and providing level 4 technical support for complex environments. Collaboration with engineering teams is essential to ensure the reliability and scalability of applications and infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Significant experience (+2 years) in Cloud, DevOps, Infrastructure, or distributed systems.
• Knowledge of GNU/Linux, ideally Debian.
• Strong automation skills, particularly with Ansible and Python.
• Good understanding of CI/CD environments and DevOps practices.
• Experience in deploying, integrating, and operating highly available and scalable distributed solutions.
• Understanding of high availability, redundancy, security, encryption, backup, and disaster recovery issues.
• Knowledge of networks and associated protocols: VLAN, VPN, DHCP, DNS, HAProxy, etc.
• Experience in testing, troubleshooting, and technical documentation writing.
• Ability to work in complex technical environments and provide level 4 support.
• Experience with virtualization and containerization environments (VMware, KVM, Docker, Kubernetes, Proxmox) is a plus.
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK is a plus.
• Experience in regulated, critical environments or those with strong security constraints is a plus.
• Fluent in English and German required.
• Ability to meet the requirements for a German security clearance (Sicherheitsüberprüfung) according to project constraints.
• Autonomy, rigor, analytical mindset, and strong problem-solving skills.
• Good interpersonal skills, service orientation, and ability to collaborate effectively with R&D, operations, support, partners, and clients.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and configure Cloud Edge solutions within client private infrastructures.
• Ensure security, performance, availability, and scalability requirements of deployed environments.
• Participate in design and integration phases of solutions.
• Support technical teams on architecture, sizing, integration, and feasibility.
• Design and implement distributed architectures tailored to client environment constraints.
• Automate deployment, configuration, and administration processes.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts and playbooks.
• Contribute to the improvement and reliability of CI/CD pipelines.
• Industrialize operational processes to reduce manual interventions and associated risks.
• Participate in the evolution of DevOps practices and Infrastructure as Code.
• Plan and execute upgrades and patches during maintenance windows.
• Prepare maintenance operations to minimize service interruptions.
• Participate in the continuous evolution and improvement of deployed solutions.
• Ensure compatibility and stability of environments during technical evolutions.
• Provide level 4 technical support for complex environments.
• Diagnose and resolve critical incidents and complex technical issues.
• Analyze problems related to systems, networks, applications, infrastructures, and distributed components.
• Collaborate with R&D, support, and operations teams to identify root causes and implement sustainable solutions.
• Participate in continuous quality and resilience improvement of solutions.
• Write and maintain technical documentation for architectures, deployments, and operational procedures.
