DevOps Lead Engineer

Job summary

The DevOps Lead Engineer role focuses on leading a greenfield MES rollout at a biotech manufacturing site, ensuring efficient deployment and management of MES platforms. Key responsibilities include building and refining CI/CD pipelines, managing infrastructure-as-code, and supporting MES platforms like Emerson Syncade, while adhering to compliance standards in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as a DevOps Lead or Senior DevOps Engineer on complex enterprise programs
• Hands-on development background with strong SDLC and DevOps practice knowledge
• Solid CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, automation, and scripting skills
• Experience managing enterprise application environments
• Strong background supporting MES platforms, ideally Emerson Syncade
• Experience in regulated pharma/life sciences environments with knowledge of GxP, CSV, and GAMP 5
• Familiarity with MES integrations into SAP, LIMS, and historian systems, plus containerization

Responsibilities

• Build, implement, and refine CI/CD pipelines for consistent deployments across dev, test, and production
• Take ownership of the DevOps toolchain and environment lifecycle
• Provision and manage secure, resilient, scalable infrastructure for MES platforms
• Manage MES platforms, including deployments, configuration, and operational support
• Set and enforce development standards and release governance
• Collaborate with software engineering, QA, and business stakeholders for automated deployments
• Integrate automated testing and quality gates into CI/CD pipelines
• Establish monitoring, logging, and alerting for platform health
• Ensure compliance with documentation and deployment records
• Drive improvement across the delivery lifecycle
• Serve as technical authority for complex infrastructure and operational issues
