DevOps Manager

Job summary

Leads a distributed, follow-the-sun DevOps Operations team providing L3 support for edge/on-prem and cloud platforms. Establishes processes and standards for reliable incident and change management, improves automation and L1/L2 support capabilities, and partners with Operations, engineering, and Security teams. The environment includes OpenShift, k0s, AKS, GKE, GitLab CI/CD, Ansible, Terraform, Prometheus, and Grafana.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience as a DevOps Manager and prior experience in DevOps, automation engineering, or Linux administration.
• Experience building teams and establishing processes and procedures.
• Knowledge of Linux systems, services, filesystems, storage, networking, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes or OpenShift, and virtualization.
• Experience with configuration management, CI/CD tools, and infrastructure as code.
• Familiarity with Azure or another cloud platform and Git-based version control.
• Experience using Bash and Python for automation.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and database queries.
• Hands-on experience with JSON and REST API calls.
• Broad understanding of software engineering and architecture.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, presentation, and written and oral communication skills.
• Fluent business English.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the global DevOps L3 support team and its projects.
• Establish processes, standards, and capabilities for reliable L3 operations.
• Act as an escalation point and measure team performance against strategic goals.
• Coordinate incident and change management across Operations and DevOps engineering teams.
• Develop team capabilities in automation, cloud and edge deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and CI/CD.
• Partner with Operations teams to resolve L3 tickets and automate recurring work.
• Write and maintain standard operating procedures and knowledge-base articles.
• Drive continuous improvement and promote training and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate on technical architecture, system design, and integration requirements.
• Work with Security to support secure cloud and edge solutions.
• Coach and mentor team members and lead cross-functional project teams.
