Job summary
The AKDB is seeking a DevOps / Platform Engineer to help shape software solutions for digital administration in Germany. This role involves developing and optimizing an Internal Developer Platform, automating hybrid infrastructures, and managing Kubernetes and container environments. The engineer will also integrate security into platform processes and evaluate modern Cloud-Native technologies.
Qualifications
- Completed degree in Computer Science, comparable education, or equivalent qualification through practical experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, SRE, or Cloud-Native environments.
- Very good Linux knowledge and a deep understanding of container technologies, Kubernetes, Helm, and modern platform architectures.
- Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code, automation, and GitOps workflows, for example with Terraform, Ansible, Bash, Python, or Go.
- Proactive approach to security, with ideal experience in system hardening, secret management, authorization concepts, and regulated environments like GDPR or BSI-Grundschutz.
- Structured, independent, and solution-oriented work style, with a commitment to automating repetitive manual tasks.
- Ability to explain complex technical relationships clearly, enjoy teamwork, and possess very good German language skills (C1 level or higher) and proficient technical English.
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize the Internal Developer Platform to create self-service options, stable CI/CD processes, and efficient deployment paths for development teams.
- Automate hybrid infrastructures with Infrastructure as Code and GitOps, using tools like Terraform, Ansible, and Git-based workflows.
- Operate and scale Kubernetes and container environments on a stable Linux architecture, ensuring reliable and secure platform operations.
- Integrate security directly into platform and deployment processes through vulnerability scanning, secret management, role-based permissions, and the Principle of Least Privilege.
- Ensure platform transparency and manageability through monitoring, logging, tracing, and observability standards.
- Evaluate modern Cloud-Native technologies and best practices, and drive the evolution of platform architecture in collaboration with development, operations, and security teams.
