Job summary
The DevOps Engineer builds and operates cloud platforms and automation that support broadcast and media technology services. The role includes managing AWS infrastructure with Infrastructure as Code, maintaining CI/CD and GitOps pipelines, operating Kubernetes and Docker workloads, and improving platform observability, security, and reliability. It also involves troubleshooting production issues, creating reusable automation and operational documentation, collaborating across engineering teams, and participating in an on-call rota.

Qualifications
- Experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering supporting production-grade cloud environments.
- Hands-on experience with AWS and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Pulumi.
- Understanding of cloud architecture, networking, security, and operational best practices.
- Experience designing, building, and maintaining CI/CD and GitOps pipelines.
- Linux/Unix administration and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with infrastructure automation using Python, Bash, or comparable scripting languages.
- Experience deploying and operating Kubernetes and Docker platforms in production.
- Experience implementing monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field is desirable.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and manage cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code.
- Develop and maintain automated CI/CD and GitOps deployment pipelines.
- Deploy, manage, and support containerised workloads using Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm.
- Maintain monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions for platform health, availability, and performance.
- Apply security, networking, and operational best practices across cloud and platform environments.
- Collaborate with software engineers, architects, and operational teams to deliver scalable, resilient, and cost-effective solutions.
- Troubleshoot platform, infrastructure, and application issues; lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
- Develop platform standards, reusable automation, and self-service capabilities.
- Maintain technical documentation, operational runbooks, and knowledge-sharing materials.
- Support platform operations through an on-call rota.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and industry practices to inform platform direction.
