DevOps Senior Engineer

Job summary

The Senior DevOps Engineer designs, builds, and operates secure, scalable cloud infrastructure, delivery pipelines, and automation for an AI platform. The role develops AWS serverless and event-driven services, Terraform modules, and GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines; supports containerised applications and MLOps/LLMOps workflows; and leads security, observability, incident response, and technical mentoring.

Qualifications

• Significant hands-on experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or cloud engineering, including operating production services in enterprise environments.
• Strong AWS experience, including Lambda, IAM, VPC networking, S3, CloudWatch, and serverless or event-driven architectures.
• Proficiency with Terraform, reusable modules, automated provisioning, and controlled infrastructure changes.
• Experience developing and managing GitHub and GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines, including testing, security controls, and release management.
• Practical experience deploying and troubleshooting Docker and Kubernetes workloads.
• Strong Linux administration, networking, Python, and shell scripting skills.
• Understanding of AI/ML application lifecycles and MLOps/LLMOps practices.
• Experience with SSO, role-based access, secrets management, and Microsoft Entra ID integration.
• Ability to lead technical delivery, troubleshoot complex production issues, mentor engineers, and influence engineering standards.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate AWS infrastructure and shared AI platform services.
• Develop serverless and event-driven solutions using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge, SQS, and Step Functions.
• Create reusable Terraform modules and automate infrastructure provisioning across development, test, and production environments.
• Build and optimise CI/CD pipelines with GitHub and GitHub Actions, including automated testing, security scanning, approvals, and rollback capabilities.
• Automate packaging, deployment, and monitoring of AI applications, models, and agents.
• Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot containerised applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Implement cloud security controls for access, identity federation, secrets, encryption, and network connectivity.
• Establish monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting capabilities.
• Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and improve platform availability, performance, and resilience.
• Mentor engineers and contribute through code reviews, documentation, and cross-team collaboration.
