ALTEN Consulting Services GmbH is seeking a DevOps / Software Engineer to join an agile development team focused on secure communications and tactical radio communication. The role involves developing code and scripts for automation, driving CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring the implementation of work packages while coordinating with other development teams.

Qualifications

  • Successfully completed studies in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a comparable technical field
  • Profound experience in software development and DevOps, as well as a strong interest in modern, scalable software solutions
  • Good knowledge of Linux systems and Unix environments
  • Experience with Python and CI/CD tools and technologies such as Git/GitLab, Docker, CMake, and ideally Grafana and databases
  • Interest in modern software engineering practices and ability to quickly familiarize with complex technical topics
  • Enjoy working in a team, actively sharing knowledge, and communicating confidently in an agile environment
  • Motivated to use new technologies and help shape high-quality software solutions in security-critical systems

Responsibilities

  • Work in an agile development team and support the entire software development lifecycle for products in secure communications with a focus on tactical radio communication
  • Develop code and scripts for automating build, test, and release processes, actively advancing modern CI/CD pipelines
  • Take responsibility for coordinated work packages in the Scrum team and ensure their implementation considering time, quality, and cost targets
  • Coordinate closely with other development teams and actively support them in building and optimizing CI/CD structures
  • Conduct code reviews to actively promote knowledge exchange, code quality, and continuous improvement within the team
  • Monitor technological trends and contribute new ideas for the further development of software architectures and development processes
  • Work in a security-critical, technologically demanding environment with high relevance for modern communication systems
