DevOps Software Engineer

Job summary

Build and operate resilient distributed software for digital payment and commerce services, including payments, transit, tickets, digital keys, and identity. The role spans the software lifecycle, from architecture and development through testing, delivery, maintenance, monitoring, and on-call support, using Java or Kotlin with Spring and potentially REST or gRPC, cloud platforms, containers, observability tools, and SQL or NoSQL databases.

Qualifications

• Hands-on software development experience with Java or Kotlin and Spring.
• Experience building and maintaining complex software systems and understanding distributed systems fundamentals.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly in writing and verbally.
• Ability to drive complex projects from conception to production.
• Development and operational experience with REST or gRPC services.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration, such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with cloud-native applications, such as AWS, designed for resilience.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code.
• Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, or Datadog.
• Hands-on experience with SQL or NoSQL databases, such as Aurora, DynamoDB, CockroachDB, or Oracle.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent technical field.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, deliver, and maintain software.
• Operate and monitor software, including providing on-call support.
• Contribute to platform architecture and design.
• Participate in technical discussions and write specifications.
• Review code and produce documentation.
