Job summary
The DevSecOps Engineer embeds security, automation, and reliability across software delivery for mission-critical government and national security systems. The role designs secure CI/CD pipelines, maintains infrastructure-as-code and cloud-native environments, automates operational and security processes, and improves monitoring and vulnerability management. Technologies include Azure, AWS or Google Cloud, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, and Python, PowerShell, or Bash.

Qualifications
- Experience in DevSecOps, Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or a similar role.
- Experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitLab, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar platforms.
- Cloud experience, preferably with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or CloudFormation.
- Knowledge of secure software development, vulnerability management, application security testing, and security-by-design.
- Experience with containerisation and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Ability to automate operational and security processes using Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across engineering, security, and business teams.
- Australian citizenship and an NV-1 security clearance are required.
- Experience in regulated, enterprise-scale, or mission-critical environments is advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and improve secure CI/CD pipelines with security controls throughout development and deployment.
- Collaborate with engineering, cloud, platform, and cybersecurity teams to improve reliability and security posture.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code, cloud-native environments, and security tooling.
- Automate operational processes and support scalable, repeatable, compliant delivery.
- Identify improvements to automation, monitoring, vulnerability management, and DevSecOps practices.
