Job summary

EXFO is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of DevOps to lead the development, deployment, and operational support of testing and measurement solutions for the telecommunication sector. This role involves evolving a modern DevOps operating model to ensure high-quality software delivery, scalable deployments, and reliable customer support in complex telecom environments. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of DevOps principles, software development methodologies, CI/CD practices, cloud-native architectures, and telecom network technologies.

Qualifications

  • Strong leadership experience with deep understanding of DevOps principles, software development methodologies, CI/CD practices, cloud-native architectures, and telecom network technologies
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in product development, software engineering, DevOps, technical operations, or related technology leadership roles
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing technical teams in a software or telecom environment
  • Strong understanding of the DevOps operating model, including CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure, automation, observability, and SRE principles
  • Strong understanding and practical use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and emerging technologies, with the ability to drive their adoption to improve DevOps efficiency, automation, and business outcomes
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, DevSecOps, automated testing, and release management
  • Experience deploying and supporting complex software solutions in customer production environments
  • Experience leading organizational transformation from traditional support models to DevOps-based operating models

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, deployment, and operational support of testing and measurement solutions for telecommunication customers
  • Evolve a modern DevOps operating model for high-quality software delivery, scalable deployments, and reliable customer support in complex telecom environments
  • Collaborate with product management, operations, and customer-facing teams to accelerate delivery, ensure service reliability, and customer satisfaction
  • Define and execute the DevOps strategy aligned with business unit objectives for the full lifecycle of telecom network testing and measurement solutions
  • Build and evolve a high-performing DevOps organization focused on automation, scalability, reliability, and continuous improvement
  • Champion DevOps culture and best practices across development, deployment, testing, and operational support teams
  • Ensure ongoing technology scouting to identify innovation opportunities
  • Establish KPIs and operational metrics to measure delivery velocity, software quality, reliability, customer outcomes, and operational performance
  • Ensure adoption of modern hardware and software development methodologies including Agile, Scrum, Kanban, CI/CD, automated testing, AI, and release management
  • Ensure development practices support quality, security, maintainability, and scalability
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning
  • Align team priorities with business goals and customer commitments
  • Create winning conditions for team success through appropriate coaching and a 360° learning culture
  • Promote team autonomy while facilitating collaboration between various teams
  • Act as an influencer within the EXFO community at all levels and sectors relevant to the scope of responsibilities
  • Accountable for the delivery of high-quality products and solutions according to business objectives and priorities
  • Promote best practices harmonization to ease work between teams
  • Promote AI usage to accelerate development
  • Responsible for the cost efficiency of the group under direction to maximize profitability
