Job summary
This hands-on software engineering role owns and evolves a customer-facing documentation platform that helps infrastructure professionals discover and use software guidance. The work spans JavaScript and TypeScript web development, Python automation, cloud-hosted services and REST APIs, and Azure DevOps pipelines. The engineer also improves search and AI-assisted experiences, platform performance and reliability, and documentation publishing workflows.

Qualifications
- At least two years of hands-on software development experience
- Production experience with JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, and CSS
- Backend development or automation experience using Python
- CI/CD pipeline experience, preferably with Azure DevOps
- Scripting and automation skills; PowerShell experience preferred
- Experience integrating REST APIs into web applications
- Familiarity with cloud-hosted services and APIs; AWS experience is a plus
- Experience with Git or another distributed version control system
- Experience maintaining a public-facing website or platform
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Experience maintaining open-source or internal development tools
- Familiarity with content publishing systems or static-site generation
- Exposure to search, chat, or AI-assisted user experiences
Responsibilities
- Drive the technical roadmap for the documentation platform
- Build and maintain a production web platform using JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and Python
- Develop frontend integrations and interactive user experiences
- Integrate cloud-hosted services and REST APIs for search, discovery, and AI-assisted experiences
- Troubleshoot issues across frontend applications, APIs, backend services, and infrastructure
- Maintain and improve Azure DevOps pipelines for building, validating, and publishing documentation
- Create and maintain automation using Python, PowerShell, and related tools
- Improve platform performance, reliability, observability, and release processes
- Integrate documentation into build and release workflows
- Provide tooling and guidance for consistent, efficient documentation publishing
- Collaborate with documentation, release, and infrastructure teams to evolve the platform
