Embedded Linux Platform Engineer (UAV)

Job summary

Design, build, and maintain embedded Linux distribution for UAV compute boards, ensuring robust update mechanisms and integrating the flight stack.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in embedded Linux development, ideally on UAV/robotics
• Deep knowledge of Yocto, bootloaders, Linux kernel, and device tree
• Experience designing robust update/OTA mechanisms
• Proficient in C, C++, and Python
• Understanding of firmware writing on microcontrollers
• Knowledge of real-time systems and communication protocols
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Completed degree or equivalent training in relevant field

Responsibilities

• Own the Linux platform and maintain embedded Linux distribution
• Bring up hardware including bootloader, kernel configuration, and driver integration
• Design and maintain robust update mechanisms for OS and firmware
• Integrate the flight stack with PX4 flight controller
• Collaborate with hardware, avionics, and systems teams
• Support lab testing and live flight trials
