Job summary
Lockheed Martin is seeking an experienced Software Architect, DevSecOps Lead, or SW Transformation Lead to advance next-generation command and control capabilities. This role involves leading modernization efforts for a weapon control system program, focusing on modern development practices, CI/CD pipelines, and emerging technologies. The successful candidate will drive the evolutionary software infrastructure roadmap and transition the broader program organization into a new development environment.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, with 1 year in architectural defining roles.
- Experience with development and deployment using cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong background in micro-service design, CI/CD, and DevOps tooling.
- Experience with AI/ML integration and modernizing legacy code bases.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Master’s Degree or higher preferred.
- Knowledge of secure development practices or cyber-security frameworks.
- Must be a US Citizen for consideration and able to obtain a government security clearance.
Responsibilities
- Operate as a Software Architect or DevSecOps Lead for weapon control system program modernization.
- Actively participate in all software development activities, from design to hands-on development and testing.
- Enable the broader program organization to transition into a new development environment.
- Lead and participate in trade study evaluations for applying modern commercial technologies to existing weapon control systems.
- Drive modern software development approaches using cloud computing, containerization, and microservices architectures.
- Oversee software deployment across cloud and on-prem hardware to verify requirements.
- Integrate Agentic and GenAI workstreams and tools into software development processes to accelerate legacy code refactoring.
- Provide technical oversight of weapon control system modernization activities and reporting.
- Support high-visibility demonstrations and checkpoint events, integrating Lockheed Martin and partner solutions.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to develop and execute a program modernization roadmap.
- Assist in identifying resource, staffing, and capability needs.
- Collaborate with product owners, AI specialists, security, finance, and program managers to deliver scalable, containerized solutions.
