Job summary
WSP is seeking an Associate or Associate Director level Utilities Infrastructure Engineer for their Development team. This role involves leading engagement with clients on technical utilities matters, managing project teams, and developing innovative technical solutions for multi-utility infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will contribute to sustainable development infrastructure solutions from planning through to detailed design and construction.
Qualifications
- Chartered Engineer status or working towards it
- Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification
- Experience delivering utility connections, diversions, and infrastructure strategies in the UK
- Understanding of Electricity, Gas, Water, and Telecommunications networks for new developments
- Experience with Multi-Utility / iDNO / ICP and commercial risk/opportunities
- Ability to develop utility demand calculations
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple projects concurrently
- Excellent communication skills for client engagement and report delivery
- Experience directing BIM teams (AutoCAD / Civils 3D / Revit) for project models and design outputs
- Proven ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships
- Ability to obtain UK vetting level of Security Check (SC)
Responsibilities
- Lead client engagement and advise on technical utilities matters
- Manage project teams in the UK and internationally to develop innovative technical solutions and designs
- Lead masterplanning, coordination, and design of Multi-Utility infrastructure
- Oversee project and commercial management for Utility projects
- Lead diverse Utility projects from local to national significance
- Work within multidisciplinary teams and manage coordinated project delivery
- Serve as a senior point of contact for the Development team and clients
- Drive business growth with existing clients and develop new client relationships
- Collaborate with clients to deliver complex schemes to high standards, budget, and programme
- Mentor and develop the growing team
- Ensure quality of service for clients and uphold professional reputation
- Demonstrate commercial awareness, project/programme management, and efficient problem solving
