Job summary
Own the reliability, availability, and performance of a global fleet of AI-powered MRI edge systems deployed at customer sites, serving as the technical authority for the on-premise platform. Manage server hardware, networks, Linux, and GPU-enabled Kubernetes across more than 50 edge clusters, while automating provisioning and strengthening incident response, service-level objectives, and observability. The platform supports AI classification services used in biological applications, including food processing.

Qualifications
- Strong experience maintaining Kubernetes on edge machines.
- Fluency in at least one modern programming language, such as Golang or Python.
- Deep understanding of Prometheus and Grafana.
- Expert proficiency with Terraform.
- Deep Linux expertise and experience with server hardware, including RAID controllers, BIOS, and boot processes.
- Understanding of release systems and proficiency with GitOps tools such as Argo CD.
- Knowledge of certificate management and secure network tunnels such as IPSec or VPN.
- Experience with low-level infrastructure such as routers, switches, servers, BIOS, and TPM modules.
- Proven experience automating bare-metal infrastructure provisioning.
- Ability to design automated, resilient Kubernetes and GitOps delivery pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Own the reliability and lifecycle of edge racks, including server hardware, network equipment, Linux, and GPU-enabled Kubernetes.
- Design and improve fleet provisioning automation using Terraform, BMC/IPMI, and router APIs.
- Maintain secure networking between edge deployments and central cloud, and support safe software delivery to the fleet.
- Triage and resolve escalated production issues during weekday support rotations.
- Lead post-incident reviews and implement lasting automated fixes.
- Define and monitor service-level objectives, indicators, and agreements for unattended edge systems.
- Improve observability using Prometheus, hardware exporters, Grafana, and Datadog.
- Set technical direction for edge infrastructure projects and contribute to planning.
- Mentor engineers through pairing, reviews, and knowledge sharing.
- Serve as the technical escalation point for complex support and production issues.
- Gather stakeholder requirements, maintain technical alignment, and automate repetitive work.
