Founding Platform Engineer

Job summary

Own the platform, security, reliability, corporate IT, and delivery systems for a home loan platform operating in a regulated lending environment. Build secure AWS infrastructure and automated controls, including infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, production-like preview environments, disaster recovery, and device and identity management, so engineers can deploy frequently while reducing ongoing manual effort.

Qualifications

• Typically 6+ years of experience across DevOps, platform, security, or operations-heavy engineering.
• Experience building and securing production AWS infrastructure using least privilege, automation, and infrastructure-as-code.
• Experience owning security posture and reliability; regulated or compliance-sensitive experience is preferred.
• Ability to automate recurring operational work and manage corporate IT, device fleets, and identity lifecycle processes.
• Ability to communicate trade-offs, make pragmatic decisions, and establish standards as a founding owner.

Responsibilities

• Establish least-privilege access through scoped IAM roles, secrets management, and network segmentation.
• Manage vulnerability detection, dependency and image scanning, penetration testing, security findings, and incident response.
• Improve and monitor cloud security posture, including zero-trust access and short-lived credentials.
• Own lending platform reliability, uptime targets, incident management, and blameless post-mortems.
• Define and test disaster recovery and business continuity plans, including RPO/RTO targets, runbooks, and game days.
• Own infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, deployment controls, and production-like preview environments.
• Automate corporate device provisioning, endpoint security, onboarding, offboarding, and identity and access reviews.
• Develop policy-as-code, automated remediation, and agent-assisted operations within verified guardrails.
