Job summary

The Platform Engineering contractor will operate and evolve managed platform services, integrate self-service products, and help Support teams handle recurring incidents independently. The role includes maintaining Kubernetes operators such as CloudNativePG and Strimzi, improving service reliability and observability, and industrializing deployments and GitLab CI/CD workflows. The technical environment includes Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, Kafka, Python, Terraform, Prometheus, Grafana, and Backstage.

Qualifications

• At least 6 years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or SRE, with strong Kubernetes and production service operations expertise.
• Proficiency with PostgreSQL and Kafka, ideally CloudNativePG and Strimzi, and Kubernetes operators.
• Automation and scripting skills, including Python, Bash, Helm, and Terraform.
• Experience with GitLab CI/CD, industrialization practices, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Familiarity with observability and diagnostic tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenSearch.
• Ability to investigate complex incidents and deliver secure, durable service improvements.
• Autonomous, proactive, and effective communicator.

Responsibilities

• Take over operational knowledge of CloudNativePG, Strimzi, and Kubernetes operators; document and secure operations.
• Maintain and evolve managed services; investigate complex incidents and improve reliability, resilience, and observability.
• Design and integrate self-service managed services, and automate their deployment, configuration, lifecycle, and provisioning.
• Improve Backstage and existing tools for administration, monitoring, and diagnostics.
• Evolve GitLab CI/CD pipelines and improve automation, compliance, and observability practices.
• Develop guided procedures and secure automated remediations for Support teams.
• Collaborate with Architecture, Development, Systems, and Support teams.
• Explore generative and agentic AI for deployments, diagnostics, and remediation, with validation and traceability for sensitive actions.
