Fully Remote (Toronto Preferred) Junior Infrastructure Engineer/IT Admin/DevOps

Job summary

Pest Share is seeking a Junior Infrastructure Engineer to join their Technology Operations team. This role focuses on release management, CI/CD automation, and cloud infrastructure, supporting the engineering team by automating deployment processes and maintaining systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 1-3 years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, infrastructure, or release engineering roles.
• Clear communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, QA, and product teams.
• Basic experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS.
• Exposure to Infrastructure as Code, such as Terraform.
• Experience using Git and modern software development workflows.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the software release process, ensuring releases are planned, communicated, and executed smoothly.
• Automate and enhance CI/CD pipelines to improve deployment reliability, speed, and developer experience.
• Monitor releases and deployments, identifying and resolving issues during the release process.
• Review and triage bugs raised by QA, working with engineering teams to ensure issues are prioritized and resolved.
• Contribute to the maintenance and improvement of cloud infrastructure, primarily in AWS.
• Support infrastructure management using Terraform, maintaining and updating infrastructure as code.
• Document release processes, deployment procedures, and infrastructure workflows.
• Continuously seek opportunities to reduce manual work, improve automation, and strengthen release reliability.
