Job summary
This graduate Site Reliability Engineer supports and maintains essential services for mission applications, improving availability, performance, and stability through software and systems engineering. The role focuses on automating operational work, instrumenting applications for monitoring, and advising product teams on scalable, resilient system design, with routine support limited to no more than half of the team’s time. The position is based in Manchester, with site attendance expected 3–5 days per week.

Qualifications
- Obtained or predicted to obtain at least a 2:2 in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Meet Baseline Personnel Security Standard requirements
Responsibilities
- Support and maintain essential services for core mission applications
- Improve service availability, performance, and stability
- Automate repetitive operational work
- Advise product teams on system design and development practices
- Instrument applications and use monitoring to demonstrate improvements
- Apply software and infrastructure knowledge to build scalable, resilient systems
- Participate in the wider DevOps and SRE community
