Group-IT Platform Engineer

Job summary

The Group-IT Platform Engineer maintains and enhances hybrid infrastructure for more than 6,000 users, with a focus on reliability, availability, security, and performance across Microsoft Azure and connected environments. The role manages Azure networking, IaaS and PaaS services, Entra ID access controls, security remediation, and backup and disaster recovery using Azure Site Recovery. It also handles infrastructure incidents and maintains architecture diagrams, standards, and operational documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field.
• At least 7 years of experience with cloud platforms such as IaaS, PaaS, or NaaS.
• Azure certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-305, or AI-200/300 are advantageous.
• Linux or Windows certification is advantageous.
• Development experience is advantageous.
• Strong communication, adaptability, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and troubleshoot enterprise cloud platforms.
• Manage Azure networking, including VNets, subnets, NSGs, UDRs, VPN Gateway, and VNet peering.
• Implement and maintain IaaS, PaaS, Layer 4 and Layer 7 load balancing, and cloud networking.
• Establish platform and reference architectures and manage changes.
• Implement Entra ID authentication, authorization, SSO, B2C, and role-based access.
• Implement data permissions and document-level security.
• Secure access to internal documents and knowledge sources.
• Implement security controls and support vulnerability remediation.
• Manage backup and disaster recovery solutions, including Azure Site Recovery.
• Conduct backup tests, recovery exercises, and failover and failback procedures; ensure recovery objectives are met.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure incidents in cloud environments.
• Maintain infrastructure documentation, architecture and network diagrams, standards, and operational procedures.
