Head of DevOps

Job summary

Lead the evolution of 1inch’s infrastructure and platform engineering capabilities, building resilient, secure, and scalable systems for the global DeFi ecosystem. This role combines strategic leadership with deep technical expertise, driving automation, reliability, and operational excellence. Empower engineering teams through self-service infrastructure, standardized deployment workflows, and secure-by-design practices.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in DevOps, Infrastructure, or Platform Engineering roles
• 3+ years of experience leading and managing engineering teams in high-growth environments
• Strong expertise in Kubernetes, including cluster management, networking, and security
• Extensive hands-on experience with Terraform, Infrastructure as Code, and GitOps practices
• Proven experience managing multi-cloud infrastructure environments such as AWS, GCP, and Hetzner
• Deep understanding of microservices architecture, distributed systems, and service mesh technologies
• Solid experience with observability tooling covering metrics, logging, and tracing
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD security best practices and secure infrastructure design
• Ability to balance long-term strategic planning with hands-on technical problem-solving
• Experience coaching senior engineers and building scalable engineering processes
• Experience working with blockchain infrastructure, Web3, or DeFi ecosystems (nice to have)
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures and messaging systems such as Kafka or NATS (nice to have)
• Experience with chaos engineering and resilience testing practices (nice to have)
• Knowledge of CDN optimization and edge computing architectures (nice to have)
• Strong understanding of the 1inch ecosystem and the broader Web3 landscape (nice to have)

Responsibilities

• Lead the evolution of infrastructure and platform engineering capabilities
• Build resilient, secure, and scalable systems for the global DeFi ecosystem
• Guide a high-performing engineering team responsible for multi-cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes operations, observability, and developer enablement
• Drive automation, reliability, and operational excellence
• Empower engineering teams through self-service infrastructure, standardized deployment workflows, and secure-by-design practices
• Ensure systems remain highly available, cost-efficient, and compliant with industry standards
• Define and execute DevOps and platform engineering strategy aligned with company objectives
• Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing infrastructure engineering team
• Oversee multi-cloud Kubernetes environments and drive Infrastructure as Code and GitOps adoption
• Build and improve self-service tooling for infrastructure provisioning, deployments, and secrets management
• Establish and maintain SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs for critical production systems
• Drive observability, monitoring, incident response, and post-mortem processes
• Implement and enforce security best practices aligned with ISO 27001 and SOC 2 frameworks
• Optimize infrastructure performance, scalability, and cloud cost efficiency across providers
• Standardize engineering workflows and operational processes to improve developer productivity
