Job summary
The Head of Platform leads the engineering platform function and defines infrastructure strategy across products, including AI training and serving infrastructure, as the organization scales. The role grows the team, owns cloud architecture, developer experience, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, reliability, observability, and infrastructure and LLM budgets. It also shapes enterprise deployment models and represents infrastructure in customer and security reviews, using technologies such as Kubernetes, Terraform, ArgoCD, and GCP.

Qualifications
- Experience leading engineers and growing teams, ideally including team leads or managers
- Hands-on Kubernetes experience across managed, on-premises, or multi-region environments
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code such as Terraform and GitOps tools such as ArgoCD
- Experience setting SLOs and SLAs, operating on-call, leading incident response and postmortems, and testing disaster recovery
- Experience with an observability platform such as Honeycomb, Datadog, Grafana, or New Relic
- Ability to review code, architecture, and prototypes hands-on
- Experience owning infrastructure budgets, cloud cost attribution, forecasting, and provider relationships
- Experience designing enterprise deployment models, including single-tenant, regional, and data-residency options
- Experience supporting security reviews and contracted SLAs
- Startup or scale-up experience
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Responsibilities
- Own infrastructure strategy and the platform roadmap across products
- Lead and grow the Platform team, including hiring plans, goals, metrics, and team structure
- Own AI infrastructure for training, serving, MLOps tooling, and model access
- Improve developer experience and establish deployment pathways
- Manage infrastructure and LLM budgets, forecasts, unit economics, and cloud-provider relationships
- Own reliability practices, including SLOs, on-call, incident response, postmortems, disaster recovery testing, and capacity planning
- Own CI/CD, the developer platform, infrastructure-as-code, and observability standards
- Partner with the Platform product manager to translate client needs into the platform roadmap
- Represent infrastructure in enterprise deals and security reviews
- Report platform health and costs to leadership and support technical due diligence
