Infrastructure and Platform Engineer

Job summary

The Infrastructure & Platform Engineer supports and improves a business-critical technology estate spanning approximately 360 UK and Ireland restaurants, 80 international sites, a bakery, a London hub and support functions. The role provides expert second- and third-line support, manages cloud and on-premise infrastructure, networks, servers, identity and backup platforms, and delivers openings, migrations and upgrades using technologies including Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Windows Server and PowerShell.

• Infrastructure and IT operations experience in a multi-site environment
• Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Entra ID and Intune
• Experience with Azure and hybrid cloud environments
• Networking experience, including LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, Wi-Fi, VLANs, routing and firewalls
• Knowledge of virtualisation, storage, backup, monitoring and disaster recovery
• PowerShell scripting and automation experience
• Troubleshooting and root-cause analysis experience
• Experience delivering technical changes from testing through implementation and handover

Responsibilities

• Manage and improve cloud, on-premise, network, server, storage, identity and backup platforms
• Provide expert second- and third-line support
• Configure and troubleshoot network connectivity, routing, DNS, DHCP and firewalls
• Manage platform health, including patching, backups, upgrades, recovery testing and vulnerability remediation
• Use PowerShell and automation to improve operational processes
• Deliver infrastructure projects, including openings, refurbishments, migrations, refreshes and upgrades
• Work with suppliers and internal teams to resolve technical issues and improve infrastructure
