Job summary
Benefact Group is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to join their Gloucester office. This role involves proactive and reactive monitoring of infrastructure, platforms, and applications, ensuring timely resolution of incidents and escalation of major issues. Qualifications
- Qualified or working toward qualification in Microsoft core technologies.
- Proven IT experience in fast-paced environments.
- Broad infrastructure knowledge in areas such as networking, VMware ESX, VoIP, Windows Server, SAN, security, cloud infrastructure, and SaaS.
- Experience using monitoring toolsets.
- Experience working with tier-1 hardware platforms like Cisco UCS and HP servers.
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with technical teams, business users, suppliers, and customers.
- Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service.
- Ability to build productive, collaborative relationships.
Responsibilities
- Undertake proactive and reactive monitoring of infrastructure, platforms, and applications.
- Provide timely prevention or resolution of incidents.
- Escalate major issues appropriately.
- Deliver exceptional customer service while managing and prioritizing workload.
- Ensure incidents, requests, and changes are handled and documented correctly.
- Provide expert guidance to users, influencing across the organization.
- Apply knowledge creatively to non-standard situations.
- Maintain and support physical and virtual infrastructure, including hardware, data centers, and communication rooms.
- Coordinate with third-party vendors.
- Contribute to business continuity activities.
- Prepare and maintain operational documentation.
- Participate in the 24/7 infrastructure support rota.
- Plan, document, and execute small projects.
- Manage risks and track progress for projects.
- Contribute insights to IT strategy and best practice.
