Job summary
Cheshire West and Chester Council is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to ensure the reliability, security, and optimal performance of the Council’s cloud-based systems.

Qualifications
- degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
- understanding of network technologies and environments
- experience in system monitoring, configuration, and troubleshooting
- strong analytical skills and methodical approach to technical issues
- knowledge of network platforms such as Cisco, Juniper or similar
- understanding of core network security principles
- relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+
- exposure to a range of network technologies
Responsibilities
- Lead design and management of network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, and wireless services.
- Monitor performance, maintain security, and resolve network issues.
- Oversee installation, configuration, and maintenance of network systems.
- Develop and implement network policies and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Provide technical leadership and support to IT teams.
- Maintain accurate network documentation and stay informed on emerging technologies.
