Job summary
An Infrastructure Engineer designs, builds, and supports Db2 infrastructure products that meet security, resilience, sustainability, and operational requirements. The role includes developing infrastructure as code and automation, supporting users and production issues, and applying Db2 for z/OS database design practices, SQL optimization, DDL deployment standards, and backup and recovery strategies.

Qualifications
- Experience in Db2 database design and administration
- Strong knowledge of Db2 for z/OS database design principles
- Automation scripting experience with Python or Shell
- Experience with infrastructure as code tooling
- Experience conducting SQL performance reviews and optimization
- Hands-on experience with DDL deployments under established standards and governance
- Ability to design and implement housekeeping, backup, and recovery strategies
- Working knowledge of CI/CD pipeline development
- Experience with technology deployed in an on-premises data center
- Understanding of Agile practices and the software development lifecycle
Responsibilities
- Engineer Db2 infrastructure that meets security, resilience, sustainability, and operational requirements
- Use automation to test products and support their release to production
- Select, create, and maintain technologies for customer and architecture needs
- Design and support engineered products, respond to user feedback and feature requests, and resolve production issues
- Develop intuitive self-service infrastructure products
- Contribute to infrastructure as code solutions
- Provide operational support for product and pattern issues
- Advise on and deliver projects using Db2 for z/OS database design principles
