Job summary
Deliver second-line technical support and operational services for endpoint and device management within the Microsoft 365 environment, with a primary focus on Microsoft Intune. The role involves contributing to the secure and compliant management of organization-owned devices and supporting the development of endpoint services for mobile devices, laptops, and desktops.

Qualifications
- Degree level education in a relevant IT discipline or equivalent experience
- Experience in a desktop-related support role within an Information Technology Department
- Additional technical training and certification in relevant technical skills and products
- Experience in a health service environment
- Ability to participate in the eHealth on-call support service for 24/7 IT systems
- Full UK/EU/EEA driving license
Responsibilities
- Deliver second-line technical support and operational services for endpoint and device management within the Microsoft 365 environment
- Contribute to effective, secure, and compliant management of organization-owned devices using defined technical standards, policies, and procedures, with a focus on Microsoft Intune
- Support ongoing development of endpoint services for mobile devices, laptops, and desktops
- Operate as part of the Endpoint & Microsoft 365 operational team, delivering agreed services and support
- Work within established governance, architectures, and strategic direction
- Provide technical implementation and advisory input
- Support devices and services used by staff across NHS Lanarkshire
- Configure, support, and maintain endpoint management services within Microsoft 365, primarily using Microsoft Intune
- Apply and support device management policies for configuration, compliance, application deployment, and security settings
- Provide second-line investigation and resolution of endpoint-related incidents and service requests
- Support operational management of mobile devices and contribute to managing laptops and desktops within the endpoint service
- Assist in rollout, testing, and adoption of new endpoint functionality, tools, or device types
- Collaborate with colleagues across Infrastructure, Endpoint, Microsoft 365, Security, and Service Delivery teams
- Liaise with service desk staff for effective escalation and resolution of endpoint-related issues
- Engage with suppliers and third parties as required, under direction and within agreed processes
- Apply specialist technical knowledge to assess device configurations, policy impacts, and support requirements
- Provide technical advice and recommendations to senior engineers and managers regarding device suitability, capabilities, and endpoint configuration approaches
- Manage own workload within defined priorities and procedures
- Exercise judgment in diagnosing technical issues and applying agreed resolutions
- Escalate complex, high-risk, or nonstandard issues in line with governance and management structures
