Job summary

The Infrastructure Engineer - Environmental role involves reviewing and analyzing water and wastewater systems, developing and implementing management programs, and conducting rehabilitation and replacement planning.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a University Degree in relevant engineering fields.
• Registered as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) in Ontario.
• Minimum five years of experience in water and wastewater systems.
• Experience in infrastructure management and condition assessment.
• Understanding of municipal water and wastewater management principles.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Familiarity with water and wastewater treatment and distribution systems.
• Understanding of budgeting and strategic planning processes.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze water and wastewater system performance.
• Conduct research and analyze technical and operational scenarios.
• Plan and coordinate infrastructure inspection and data collection programs.
• Implement programs to prevent infrastructure degradation.
• Develop condition assessment framework and conduct condition rating.
• Develop risk assessment and mitigation framework.
• Ensure quality assurance activities for program effectiveness.
• Assist in quality control programs and operating procedures.
• Oversee development of procedures and guidelines for infrastructure management.
• Oversee engineering consultants and feasibility studies.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for management.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
• Respond to project-related enquiries.
• Develop performance metrics for water and wastewater infrastructure.
