Job summary

Provide senior technical support and engineering for on-prem and cloud infrastructure, acting as the escalation point for complex incidents. Lead infrastructure projects, ensuring availability, performance, security, and compliance in a regulated financial services environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience as technical escalation point in small teams.
  • Knowledge of hybrid Azure estate configuration and administration.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows server and desktop operating systems.
  • Skills in configuring and managing VMware vSphere and Hyper-V.
  • Strong Microsoft Office 365 administration skills.
  • Hands-on Microsoft Windows network skills including AD and Group Policy.
  • Experience managing Fortigate Firewall configuration.
  • Understanding of data security principles in regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL server and database management.
  • Experience in IP telephony and multi-channel contact centre administration.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the technical escalation point for complex infrastructure issues.
  • Lead or support major incident response.
  • Produce high-quality RCA/post-incident reports.
  • Maintain and enhance monitoring/alerting.
  • Design, build, implement and support Windows Server and core services.
  • Deliver platform upgrades and patching.
  • Implement infrastructure controls aligned to least privilege.
  • Own and execute infrastructure changes through formal change control.
  • Contribute to and test DR plans and failover procedures.
  • Automate repeatable tasks using PowerShell.
  • Collaborate with Service Desk and business stakeholders.
