Job summary
G4S is seeking a 3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer to provide on-site technical support for server infrastructure and LAN/WAN networks in Cheltenham.
Qualifications
- Understanding of Firewalls, Networking technologies, and Load Balancers
- Knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS)
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience with Microsoft AD, Group Policy, Windows OS, DNS, DHCP, SCCM
- PowerShell scripting and Linux administration
- Experience with VMware/Hyper-V and NetApp storage systems
- Previous experience in an IT infrastructure role
Responsibilities
- Investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex technical problems
- Troubleshoot and resolve high-level networking problems
- Maintain and optimise servers, networks, and virtualised environments
- Manage network security and system performance
- Log calls and maintain documentation
- Support IT teams with technical expertise
- Ensure backups of business systems are managed and tested
- Adhere to Group Information Security policies
- Build relationships with stakeholders and ensure service excellence
- Provide on-call services as part of a shift rotation
