Infrastructure Engineer

Job summary

Manage and secure on-premise and cloud environments, ensuring stability and performance. Lead infrastructure projects, support migration to Azure, and implement security best practices.

Qualifications

• Experience managing enterprise infrastructure environments across on-premise and cloud platforms
• Technical knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Failover Clustering
• Experience with Hyper-V virtualisation and physical server infrastructure
• Support for storage technologies including SAN, NAS, iSCSI, and Fibre Channel
• Azure administration experience
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, ideally Terraform
• Knowledge of backup technologies, ideally Rubrik
• Understanding of networking principles
• Experience administering Microsoft Intune and Hybrid/Azure joined devices
• Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Proactive problem solver who takes ownership
• Organisational skills with ability to prioritise workloads

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and manage Windows server, Hyper-V, and Azure environments
• Support development of cloud platforms
• Monitor and maintain infrastructure performance
• Manage physical and virtual infrastructure
• Implement security best practices
• Lead infrastructure projects from design to implementation
• Act as escalation point for Service Desk team
• Maintain technical documentation
• Identify automation and efficiency improvements
• Participate in out-of-hours support rota
