Job summary
The Infrastructure Engineer implements and supports server, storage, and network environments for building automation and management systems (BAS/BMS). The role covers infrastructure operations, incident response, upgrades, disaster recovery, customer-site deployments, automation, troubleshooting, documentation, and on-call support, using technologies such as Fortinet, Cisco, MikroTik, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, and Proxmox.
Qualifications
- Two to five years of network engineering or infrastructure support experience, ideally in integrated technology environments.
- Three or more years of infrastructure operations or related IT support experience.
- Hands-on deployment and support experience with Fortinet, MikroTik, Cisco, Dell servers and storage, and virtualized or containerized systems.
- Understanding of networking protocols and technologies used in connected building environments.
- Experience with project implementation or site-based infrastructure rollouts.
- Experience with network monitoring tools and logging systems.
- Basic scripting or automation skills, such as Python or Bash.
- Proficiency with network troubleshooting methods and tools.
- Strong documentation skills.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain servers, storage, and network systems supporting BAS/BMS technologies.
- Manage infrastructure incidents, problems, and changes.
- Perform root cause analysis and apply patches, firmware upgrades, and operating system updates.
- Conduct infrastructure health checks, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
- Support disaster recovery and backup operations.
- Maintain system documentation, operational procedures, and configuration records.
- Deploy infrastructure for internal projects and customer sites.
- Identify and implement infrastructure automation opportunities.
- Respond to monitoring alerts and troubleshoot connectivity and performance issues.
- Serve as a technical point of contact for clients.
- Collaborate with technical teams and other departments to resolve cross-functional issues.
- Participate in an on-call rotation.
