Infrastructure Engineer (OpenShift / VMware)

Job summary

The Infrastructure Engineer implements, administers, and migrates enterprise infrastructure across Red Hat OpenShift, VMware vSphere, Linux, and Microsoft Windows Server environments. The role covers cluster and virtualization management, infrastructure and workload migrations, production change requests, capacity planning, performance optimization, and root-cause analysis. It also requires coordinating with enterprise stakeholders and vendors and maintaining operational and migration documentation.

Qualifications

• Five to seven years of relevant infrastructure engineering or administration experience.
• Hands-on Red Hat OpenShift experience.
• Strong knowledge of VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter.
• Practical Linux and Microsoft Windows Server administration experience.
• Experience with infrastructure and workload migration projects.
• Production change management experience, including preparing and executing change requests.
• Hands-on engineering and implementation experience in enterprise infrastructure environments.
• Ability to independently handle technical implementation, migrations, and production changes.
• Strong communication, coordination, stakeholder management, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain Red Hat OpenShift clusters and deployments.
• Manage VMware vSphere infrastructure, including ESXi hosts, vCenter, and virtual machines.
• Install, configure, patch, upgrade, and troubleshoot Linux and Windows servers.
• Plan and execute infrastructure and workload migrations across virtualized and containerized environments.
• Implement and upgrade infrastructure; perform capacity planning and performance optimization.
• Prepare, review, and execute production change requests with documentation, approvals, implementation plans, and rollback procedures.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Coordinate delivery with internal teams, enterprise stakeholders, and technology vendors.
• Maintain configuration records, operational procedures, and migration plans.
