Infrastructure Engineer

Job summary

The Infrastructure Engineer maintains and improves enterprise infrastructure supporting business operations across onsite facilities. The role administers Windows Server, directory services, Microsoft 365, Azure Entra ID, Microsoft Intune and Autopilot, and VMware or Hyper-V environments; troubleshoots incidents; and coordinates upgrades, patching, security remediation, and operational documentation. It also partners with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, secure services and participates in scheduled on-call support and occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and experience.
• At least five years of progressive enterprise systems administration, infrastructure engineering, or IT operations experience.
• Experience supporting Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365 administration, and core infrastructure services.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, and enterprise device configuration management.
• Experience with virtualization, server hardware, storage platforms, and infrastructure lifecycle management.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN connectivity, switching concepts, and infrastructure dependencies.
• Strong documentation, communication, prioritization, and stakeholder support skills.
• Preferred experience supporting hybrid infrastructure across multiple locations or business units.
• Preferred familiarity with monitoring, RMM, and ITSM platforms.
• Preferred experience with infrastructure projects, site deployments, platform modernization, and standards development.

Responsibilities

• Administer enterprise server, storage, virtualization, and cloud infrastructure.
• Maintain Windows Server, directory services, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and file services.
• Support Microsoft 365, Azure Entra ID, access controls, and hybrid integration.
• Manage Intune and Autopilot for device provisioning, configuration, compliance, and lifecycle management.
• Maintain VMware or Hyper-V environments for availability, performance, and resiliency.
• Monitor infrastructure, investigate alerts, troubleshoot incidents, and coordinate remediation.
• Plan and perform upgrades, patching, maintenance, and technology refreshes.
• Implement system hardening, vulnerability remediation, secure configuration baselines, and audit readiness practices.
• Maintain technical documentation, standards, procedures, diagrams, and support knowledge.
• Collaborate with service desk, networking, cybersecurity, application, and business teams on projects and escalated issues.
