Infrastructure Engineer

Job summary

This infrastructure engineering role improves the reliability, security, and efficiency of managed IT environments, including systems supporting the U.S. defense industrial base. The work includes administering servers and endpoints, troubleshooting outages, maintaining patching and system hardening, managing backup and recovery, documenting standards, and automating operational workflows. The role uses Azure, Tanium, MDM and RMM platforms, and ITSM tools such as ServiceNow.

• Security+ CE certification or IAT Level II equivalent
• Administrative experience with Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS
• Proficiency with MDM platforms
• Foundational networking knowledge, including firewalls, switches, wireless access points, endpoints, and servers
• Administrative experience with RMM tools and enterprise antivirus solutions
• Working knowledge of cloud technologies such as Azure
• Experience with Tanium for endpoint management, patching, and automation
• Experience automating tasks and processes with modern tools
• Strong communication skills for high-pressure technical and customer interactions
• Ability to work independently and commitment to continuous learning
• Ability to apply industry best practices and emerging trends
• U.S. citizenship and ability to pass an extensive background check
• Four or more years of MSP or related experience
• Desired experience with VDI, SQL environments, Microsoft Power Platform, scripting, server builds and migrations, ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms, or CMMC-compliant environments

Responsibilities

• Develop infrastructure processes and workflows to improve reliability and efficiency
• Engineer server, endpoint, and infrastructure configurations using enterprise tools and automation
• Diagnose outages and performance issues and remediate root causes
• Maintain patching strategies and system compliance
• Manage backup and recovery solutions
• Document system architecture, configuration baselines, and operational standards
• Define infrastructure policies, standards, and procedures
• Remediate vulnerabilities and harden systems
• Communicate technical updates to clients during service disruptions
• Automate recurring tasks and operational workflows
• Administer customer tools, including ServiceNow, Tanium, AvePoint, and Azure backups
• Lead infrastructure projects and coordinate with network engineering, internal teams, vendors, and third parties
• Manage software and hardware deployment
