Job summary

The Infrastructure Engineer - Building Automation Systems will develop and enhance Warehouse Management Systems using C++ programming and participate in daily operations of the Parts Warehouse. This role involves integrating, developing, and sustaining automation systems, including ASRS technologies, and designing dashboard analytics using tools like QlikView and Power BI. The engineer will also lead AI, ML, and RPA initiatives to optimize warehouse operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work training.
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in a related field.
  • Proficiency in software programming languages (e.g., Java, JavaScript, Python, C, HTML) and serialized data formats (e.g., JSON, XML).
  • Experience in systems design, architecting complex system interactions, and building data pipelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop dashboards and perform data querying.
  • Experience with database or analytics code development.
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance Warehouse Management Systems using C++ programming.
  • Participate in daily operations of Parts Warehouse, ensuring seamless integration of automation solutions.
  • Integrate, develop, and sustain automation systems, including ASRS technologies (such as Autostore, Geek Plus, GreyOrange).
  • Design and develop dashboard analytics using QlikView and Power BI to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Lead the implementation of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and robotic process automation initiatives to optimize warehouse operations.
  • Write high-quality product or system development code, adhering to best practices and organizational standards.
  • Participate in or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to evaluate and select appropriate technologies.
  • Review code developed by other team members, providing constructive feedback to ensure adherence to style guidelines, accuracy, testability, and efficiency.
  • Build platforms or data pipelines to aggregate and process data from multiple sources.
  • Contribute to and adapt existing documentation or educational content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
  • Troubleshoot, triage, and resolve product or system issues by analyzing their impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
