Job summary

The Infrastructure Private Cloud Engineer maintains and improves an enterprise Hosting Landing Zone, supporting platform stability, security, availability, compliance, and service-level delivery in an ITIL-aligned environment. The role includes investigating incidents, managing problems and changes, resolving root causes, automating operational work, and providing technical guidance to engineers. The platform uses VMware Cloud Foundation and infrastructure technologies spanning virtualisation, compute, networking, and storage, with security practices including vulnerability management, patching, and SIEM tooling.

• Experience in infrastructure, platform, operations, or security.
• Understanding of virtualisation, compute, networking, and storage.
• Ability to follow through on incidents, changes, risk actions, or remediation plans.
• Interest in developing security engineering skills in an enterprise platform environment.
• Experience with vulnerability management, patching, SIEM tooling, Microsoft Sentinel, Qualys, or security event processes is helpful.
• Self-motivated, organised, and able to balance delivery, learning, governance, and service stability in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the operational health, stability, and performance of the Hosting Landing Zone platform.
• Investigate and resolve incidents, including complex technical issues.
• Lead problem management and identify root causes.
• Oversee technical changes and support platform service requests.
• Implement sustainable fixes and prevent recurring problems.
• Improve operational processes and reduce manual effort through automation.
• Promote engineering best practices and coach junior engineers.
