Infrastructure Reliability Engineer

Job summary

WOLF is seeking a full-time Infrastructure Reliability Engineer to join their IT & Security team in Aurora, ON. This role involves strengthening secure, reliable, and scalable infrastructure, collaborating across IT, cybersecurity, and software development teams in a fast-paced aerospace and defence environment. The engineer will play a key role in building resilient platforms, advancing automation, and supporting technologies for next-generation innovation.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in systems administration, infrastructure engineering, DevOps, or platform reliability.
• Comfortable supporting complex technical environments where security, uptime, recoverability, and operational discipline are critical.
• Strong foundation in enterprise infrastructure, identity and access, virtualization, networking, cloud platforms, monitoring, backups, and recovery.
• Understanding of how critical systems are built, secured, maintained, automated, and improved.
• Security-first and reliability-focused mindset.
• Ability to identify risk, troubleshoot complex issues, improve operational health, and strengthen platforms.
• Proactive, collaborative, and automation-minded.
• Experience working with IT, cybersecurity, and software development teams.
• Proficiency in documentation, scripting, repeatable processes, and modern DevOps practices.
• Experience supporting Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and enterprise infrastructure.
• Exposure to DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, or Linux administration.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, deployment workflows, and modern software delivery practices.
• Hands-on experience with PowerShell, .NET, Bash, or similar scripting and automation tools.
• Experience supporting virtualized infrastructure environments.
• Exposure to Terraform, Ansible, Bicep, or similar automation and configuration management tools.
• Understanding of enterprise networking concepts, connectivity, and infrastructure troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with vulnerability management, endpoint security, system hardening, and operational security practices.
• Exposure to Microsoft 365, Azure, or similar cloud-based technologies.
• Understanding of monitoring, backups, recoverability, system health, and operational resilience.

Responsibilities

• Strengthen secure, reliable, and scalable infrastructure across IT, cybersecurity, and software development teams.
• Build resilient platforms, advance automation, and support technologies for next-generation aerospace and defence innovation.
• Support and enhance critical infrastructure, virtualization environments, cloud services, networking, backups, and recovery systems.
• Develop scripts, workflows, and infrastructure-as-code solutions to improve efficiency, consistency, and reliability.
• Partner with software developers to align infrastructure, security, and deployment requirements.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines, Git-based workflows, and deployment processes.
• Implement hardening, access controls, patching strategies, and remediation activities to protect critical systems.
• Identify vulnerabilities, improve recoverability, and strengthen the operational health of internal platforms.
• Anticipate challenges, surface risks, and drive solutions proactively.
• Create clear documentation, runbooks, and technical standards to support collaboration and scalability.
