Internship | Real-time execution of containerized applications on Kubernetes

Job summary

This internship focuses on making cloud platforms time-predictable by extending Azure Kubernetes Service with real-time scheduling capabilities.

Qualifications

• Master student in Embedded Systems, Computer Science or a comparable programme.
• Affinity with orchestration technology such as Kubernetes.
• Affinity with operating system scheduling, particularly Linux scheduling.
• Experience with Go, C or Python and cloud platforms is useful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Get KubeDeadline running on AKS and establish a baseline of its timing behaviour.
• Develop scheduling and resource-management policies.
• Investigate AKS infrastructure features for predictable execution.
• Validate results on a latency-critical workload.
• Translate findings into a working prototype and a thesis.
