Job summary
Operate and improve a secure, stable, high-performing Kubernetes and machine-learning platform based on VMware Tanzu in a healthcare technology environment. Manage cluster provisioning, scaling, and lifecycle operations; automate infrastructure and deployments with GitOps, ArgoCD, Helm, and Terraform; and develop observability and security controls. Resolve incidents, support application teams moving workloads into production, and participate in 24/7 on-call operations.

Qualifications
- Degree in computer science, business informatics, or equivalent qualification.
- Several years of experience operating and administering Kubernetes platforms in production.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes, container technologies, and cloud-native architectures.
- Experience with VMware Tanzu or comparable Kubernetes platforms.
- Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code and tools such as Terraform, Helm, and ArgoCD.
- Knowledge of GitOps and modern CI/CD processes.
- Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability solutions.
- Strong understanding of IT security, network security, identity and access management, and platform hardening.
- Experience with Linux-based environments and infrastructure or platform operations.
- Analytical, structured approach and strong problem-solving skills.
- Very good German and good English.
Responsibilities
- Operate the VMware Tanzu-based Kubernetes and machine-learning platform securely and reliably.
- Provision, update, scale, and manage the lifecycle of Kubernetes clusters and associated network, storage, and platform components.
- Automate provisioning, deployment, and operations using GitOps, ArgoCD, Helm, and Terraform.
- Implement and improve monitoring, logging, and observability solutions.
- Analyze and resolve incidents sustainably.
- Apply security-by-design principles to platform architecture and operations.
- Develop secure network, role, access, and secrets-management solutions.
- Harden infrastructure and integrate security controls into deployment and operational processes.
- Work with DevOps and ProdOps teams to develop standardized platform services and self-service solutions.
- Support development and production teams with workload onboarding, troubleshooting, and production deployment.
- Maintain technical documentation and continuously improve platform architecture.
- Participate in 24/7 operations, including on-call duty.
