Job summary
Aurizon is seeking a technically hands-on IT Infrastructure Architect to design, build, and evolve compute, virtualization, and cloud platforms.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
- One or more relevant certifications
- 7+ years’ systems engineering or infrastructure experience
- Deep hands-on expertise with VMware virtualization
- Strong practical experience delivering and operating Azure IaaS
- Demonstrated infrastructure as code capability
- Strong scripting and automation skills
- Solid administration experience across Windows Server and Linux
- Working knowledge of enterprise management and observability tooling
- Sound understanding of networking, storage, identity and security fundamentals
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Experience in safety-critical operational environments
Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain private cloud infrastructure on VMware Cloud Foundation
- Architect and deliver Azure IaaS workloads
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code
- Build and support CI/CD pipelines
- Engineer and maintain Windows Server and Linux estates
- Own and improve management systems
- Produce and maintain reference architectures
- Create and maintain platform roadmaps
- Lead development and testing of Disaster Recovery plans
- Automate manual operational tasks
- Partner with Cyber Security
- Provide escalation support for complex infrastructure incidents
- Guide and mentor engineers
