Job summary
The IT Infrastructure Engineer supports and maintains secure, reliable technology services across global operations, including infrastructure projects and IT requirements for auction operations. The role covers VMware, on-premises and Azure environments, Windows Server and Microsoft 365, LAN/WAN networks, firewalls, VPNs, backups, disaster recovery, end-user devices, and service desk requests.

Qualifications
- At least three years of experience in IT infrastructure support, systems administration, or a similar role.
- Practical experience supporting Windows Server, Active Directory, and Domain Controllers.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Microsoft technologies.
- Experience supporting and troubleshooting LAN/WAN networks, TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
- Understanding of firewalls, VPNs, and network security or SOC solutions.
- Experience supporting hardware, software, and end-user devices.
- Experience with backup, disaster recovery, and system recovery processes.
- Full UK driving licence or equivalent if travel between sites is required.
- Willingness to work occasional additional hours for auction operations and critical IT requirements.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day technical support across global operations.
- Assist with infrastructure projects involving on-premises virtual servers and Azure cloud solutions.
- Support the VMware hosting platform across global sites.
- Maintain Windows Server environments, Domain Controllers, Microsoft 365, SQL, CRM, SharePoint, Ericom, Datto Backups, and IIS.
- Configure and troubleshoot firewalls, site-to-site VPNs, internet connections, and wireless networks.
- Maintain and develop LAN/WAN infrastructure and security controls, including antivirus and SOC solutions.
- Monitor networks, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements and upgrades.
- Support backup, replication, disaster recovery, and recovery systems.
- Support Windows 11, Linux, end-user devices, and company hardware.
- Support non-Microsoft and web-based applications, VoIP systems, and auction technology requirements.
- Log, investigate, resolve, or escalate service desk requests.
- Assist with IT asset management, system maintenance, documentation, and infrastructure administration.
