IT Infrastructure Engineer

Job summary

The IT Infrastructure Engineer role is essential for providing third line technical support and managing key infrastructure systems to ensure the reliability and performance of server and desktop environments. Key responsibilities include maintaining core services such as security, compliance, and Microsoft technologies, as well as supporting virtual infrastructure and security systems to enhance service delivery.

Qualifications

• Education to A level, NVQ level three, BTEC or equivalent in ICT, or relevant experience
• Proven experience of virtualisation technologies and Windows server environments

Responsibilities

• Provide third line technical support across server infrastructure
• Support and manage infrastructure platforms, including system configuration
• Maintain core services such as security, compliance, messaging, patching and Microsoft technologies
• Take ownership of support requests, diagnose faults and resolve technical issues
• Work with service desk colleagues, service teams and users to ensure continuous service delivery
• Support and maintain virtual infrastructure and security systems, including upgrades, backups and threat monitoring
