IT INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER

Job summary

The IT Infrastructure Engineer designs, implements, and maintains infrastructure supporting statewide technology services, including networks, servers, storage, and cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure. The role manages system reliability, security, backups, and disaster recovery; troubleshoots infrastructure and performance issues; and coordinates with IT teams, agencies, and vendors while documenting system configurations and architectures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field
• Six years of experience in IT infrastructure management and systems administration
• Strong knowledge of servers, storage, networks, and cloud services
• Experience with network management, system administration, and large-scale IT infrastructure
• Proficiency with VMware, Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, TCP/IP, firewalls, and network security
• Knowledge of IT security practices and infrastructure threat monitoring
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and implement infrastructure solutions across networks, servers, storage, and cloud platforms
• Maintain hardware, software, and network systems, including updates, patches, and monitoring
• Troubleshoot network and infrastructure issues and support high availability and performance
• Provision, configure, and maintain cloud resources and assist with on-premises-to-cloud migrations
• Implement security practices, monitor vulnerabilities, and respond to threats
• Maintain backup and disaster recovery plans and test recovery readiness
• Optimize infrastructure reliability, response time, and resource utilization
• Coordinate infrastructure solutions and technical support with IT teams, agencies, and vendors
• Document system configurations, changes, and architectures and report on performance and issues
